Description

Treasure of Darjeeling is a First Flush Oolong Tea, distinguishes itself as one of the rarest teas globally due to its delicate leaves and buds. Its refined taste and aroma provide a sophisticated experience with gentle floral and fruity notes, accompanied by a subtle sweetness.

This First Flush Oolong Tea is harvested in mid-March ’24, ‘Treasure of Darjeeling’ represents the first plucking of the spring season in the valley of MIM Tea Estate, Darjeeling. The delicate, young leaves, often with a greenish hue, show their early growth and are carefully picked to protect their delicate nature and fragility.

When brewed, it yields a mellow liquor with a lively and brisk cup, starting with a vibrant vegetal texture that gradually unfolds to a delightful wild floral note, imparting a distinct texture to the liquor in the middle. It culminates in a distinguished finish, featuring a note of pitch and a lingering aftertaste. These vibrant and refreshing flavors have made it a favorite among tea connoisseurs worldwide.

About Plantation: MIM Tea Estate was established in mid to late 1800 at Sukhiya Pokhori, near Darjeeling. The name “Mim” originates from the local term “Mem,” which refers to a British lady, often addressed as “Mem Sahab.” At one juncture, the garden was under the management of a British lady, prompting locals to affectionately dub it “Mem ko Kaman,” signifying the garden owned or overseen by the British Lady.

This heritage tea estate in Darjeeling stands unique as it is operated by the Government of India under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Enterprise, with management overseen by Andrew Yule.
